HANDMADE AT EVERY STEP

The making of each BODYFIX mattress is done by hand at every stage of production. We sew together the Cotton Calico Pocket Springs by hand instead of using glue or other methods that require chemicals, thus ensuring the best quality possible but also stability of the materials. All remaining stages, from placing the natural materials to the mattresses’ finish, are done by our experienced craftsmen exclusively by hand!

OLIVE OIL TREATMENT

Worldwide, we are the only company that processes fabrics with olive oil (Olive Oil Treatment). This is an innovation for which we are proud, since it proves our dedication to quality and our never-ending attempt to develop sleep systems.

Through this processing, the fabric offers antibacterial protection and all the beneficial qualities of olive oil, known since ancient times for its beneficial qualities towards the skin.

COTTON CALICO POCKET SPRINGS

We are one of the few mattress production companies in the world that makes its own springs, using cutting-edge equipment and experienced craftsmen. Cotton Calico Pocket Springs are made of high-quality steel which maintains its resilience and flexibility. Cotton Calico is a case made of light cotton, 100% natural material, in which the spring is placed. The independent movement of each spring allows the mattress to embrace and follow the body’s outline and keep the spine perfectly aligned.

CERTIFICATIONS

In 1983, Candia became the first company in Greece to create an anatomic handmade mattress called BODYFIX. More construction innovations followed such as the independent production of Bonnel-type springs.

All Candia sleep products are produced at top quality and certified by quality management system ISO 9001, as well as the environmental management certification ISO 14001 (in fact, Candia is the first Greek company to acquire ISO).

We also use textiles certified from the ΟΕΚΟ-ΤΕΧ STANDARD 100, a worldwide independent safety system for textile certifications.
